Love me tender love me true
Elvis staring down at you
Yes the King is in my house
He keeps guard per my spouse
We deck him out and keep him clean
Elvis peers down often unseen
Yet those who do react in awe
Not the normal thing at all
At times I even forget he’s there
Perched atop the stair
Until I catch sight of him
Eery half smile, twisted grin
So Elvis came and was embraced
Amused to be in this place
Instead of in the hallowed halls
Of heaven or down below
