Yesterday I felt unloved and low
No direction, place to go
Shake it off – that’s what they say
Doesn’t take my blues away
Listen, shhh – what’s that I hear?
A bird is singing very near
Two notes he chirps, three in a row
This song is just for me – I know
See him up there on the vine –
Mandevilla blossoms all entwined
Throat a-throbbing – such a sight
The wren sings out with all his might
A feathered chest, quivering
With each note he’s delivering
I wonder . . . did an angel bring
This bird to me, his love to sing

Oh, thank you! I sent a video of this friendly wren to George via e-mail...the file is too big to attach to the poem. Hoping his engineer can attach it. You must see it...The loyal little wren sings to me every day! Your comment is deeply appreciated.
I love this poem so much! I have wrens living all around our home and I recently learned two types with different songs/calls. And, wrens definitely put their heart and soul into their songs... brilliant poem!
