poetry's simplicity
is your existence

sappho at my side
beauty of so many kinds
that we find in all

time's forgotten us
but our souls can remember
what we once shared

exposing herself
she becomes his poetry
posing for pleasure

so like a princess
goddess from an ancient land
a timeless beauty

come to me naked
strip yourself body and soul
so you may know love

her playful spirit
rising to the occasion
begging for more fun

where might i find words
stripped and bare like lovers' limbs
embracing desire
-----
i tried writing words
but she turned and walked away
returned to dry my tears
-----
my muse unaware
although she was never mine
the cause of my words
