HIDE YOUR SECRETS WELL, AND OTHER POEMS, OCTOBER 23, 2024

hide your secrets well

but never quite well enough

for me not to know

your boundaries dissolve

before rushing floods of love

you couldn't but you will

your eyes tell me all

as you take my hand and turn

leading me within

-----

you guided my hand

places it was meant to be

upon your body

taught it where to stop

the way that spot was touched

bring moans to your lips

tempo and rhythm

perfect pressure and motion

for both our pleasures

-----

if i could not satisfy

would you take a lover

if you had my blessing

-----

know my poetry

is the main attraction here

poet not the man

-----

only question asked

what would you want next my love

tell me of your needs

-----

no need to forgive

acts that i don't consider sin

merely love's nature

-----

when you freely love

give your lover the freedom

to love as freely

-----

pretend apron hides

your nakedness i wish to see

as it swings and sways

-----

burning words on skin

your own candle your own wax

medium you choose

-----

words come unbidden

wine's depths flickering candles

musical vibrations

----

please call me stranger

i'm from a different place

where love makes all friends

-----

sometimes a darkness

empty space envelopes me

i wait its passing

-----

warmth light and laughter

brothers and sisters gather

poet shivers outside

-----

once almost destroyed

a dark tunnel left inside

i get lost sometimes

-----

poetry exists

in places you've never seen

ways to make you blush

-----

comes the dark once more

old and evil memories

invading my mind

-----

wander this strange land

alien without a home

where love is welcome

-----

write so much of love

something i know little of

yet dreamed all my life

-----

why must poets dream

chasing unrealities

finding love in words
