HOLD MY HANDS SHE SAID, AND OTHER POEMS, SEPTEMBER 10, 2024

hold my hands she said

seemed the loving thing to do

i did what she asked

-----

audience of one

to your soaring aria

rousing crescendo

-----

you're the path i seek

the hills and curves and valley

on love's dear journey

-----

touch me like that dear

how ocean strokes naked shore

most natural way

-----

so i have written

first law of love is freedom

-----

sweet as you may be

you would never look at me

words are all you see

-----

sweet and honest she

in the midst of her own pain

taking time for me

-----

i wish that you knew

dear the truth would make you blush

how much you matter

-----

how soft are your lips

yet so warm and insistent

mine long to find out

-----

poetry our storm

caught in carnal hurricanes

thunder at the end

-----

how i fear your words

reading them i come undone

with desires you raise

-----

to choose a lover

i would softly call your name

hope you would reply

-----

dark shade of orchid

petals of a pastel hue

a blush of honey
