A SWEET SONG SHE SANG, AND OTHER POEMS, SEPTEMBER 5, 2024

a sweet song she sang

as my lips paid her homage

and filled her with words

-----

tongue darting dancing

my pen writing words inside

as she turns pages

-----

come to be amused

point at the poet and laugh

in his cap of bells

-----

why must i feel love

when love just brings betrayal

more layers of pain

-----

my eyes upon her

beauty in light and shadow

willing her to smile

-----

oh how you touch me

just by letting me see you

love you for a while

-----

you're stripped of the past

words pouring down your body

fitting poetry

-----

his words frighten her

the way she appears in them

all her truths exposed

-----

bares herself freely

nudity she understands

but expose her mind...

-----

she can't help but bend

to the pressure of his gaze

power of his need

-----

riding endless waves

cries out at the crest of each

she waits his next words

-----

rips secrets open

exposing truths long hidden

offers them to him

-----

lovers don't matter

past or now or tomorrow's

you are what matters

-----

to know you read me

that your mind approves of mine

smile because you do

-----

my words first mere echoes

become real as you repeat

celebrate them

-----

she is so fragile

delicate within my hands

molded to poems
