i once dreamed of love

and that's all it ever was

lifelong dream of love

i'm too old for this

and too beaten down by life

to rise one more time

sometimes difficult

to recall the happy words

or to write of love

-----

poet describes sky

blue land of endless white clouds

countless gold sunsets

-----

bright words in the sky

stars strung into poetry

speak of hope and love

-----

how silly we are

being together makes us so

another sign of love

-----

why this delusion

imagining i'll find love

after all these years

-----

learned more from his gaze

and secrets his hands exposed

than from written words

-----

open your petals love

follow the folds to your stem

tease me with honey

fingers glide and slide

glisten with silver nectar

watching me watch you

smile upon your face

lift sweet fingers to my lips

feeding my desires

shyly eyes cast down

yet the small smile betrays her

her actions as well

-----

sipping from petals

your honey as it happens

warm upon my tongue

-----

she's so smart and sweet

so impossible yet real

this lovely woman
