in your darkened room

you sleep unaware of dreams

that you are loved in

my heart is pounding

anticipation or despair

only time will tell

know no sadder fate

than to spend each day each week

alone without you

-----

clear honey flowing

nectar gold by candlelight

sipped passionately

-----

her riptide flowing

quickly rising he plunges

into her wildest waves

-----

who have i not loved

easier count to compute

than all that i do

-----

she goddess of love

took them all within her arms

made love eternal

-----

her rose held hostage

she sighs at his fingers' cage

how her petals curl

-----

i don't think it sin

to give all the love i've got

to those who need it

i get the message

i write poetry for you

you've no words for me

we climbed to the top

hand in hand and breast to breast

soared from the summit

buttoned each button in turn

hoping her secrets to learn

taking too long i guess

for she tossed off her blouse and her dress

sex love and friendship

where's the diffence beetween them

that's where i get lost

love's not a single thing

nor is there just one way to love

nor body or mind

-----

word i cannot say

beatng wings within my chest

wishing for freedom

i wear no symbols

i am my own religion

you're my only god

somewhere there's someone

loves me the way i love them

and we both can breathe

never been wanted

just one somebody needed

and available

-----

i've never mattered

when i'm gone no one will care

strangers without hearts.

about to forget

she briefly remembers

poet who loved her

life's a lonely place

days of sorrow and regret

and sad memories

the time i died

i learned that i meant nothing

to those who i thought loved me
