she loves in all ways

like a devilish angel

sinful paradise

i've waited so long

past the time of my pleasure

so i'll enjoy yours

i let myself feel

that's always a bad mistake

i should know better

duty begins day

obligations that don't end

ends in restless sleep

have to play the game

despite the fact that it's unfair

and that i'm losing

-----

i thought love mattered

learned that it did for a few

who took it and left

silent troubadour

my earnest songs of passion

falling on deaf ears
