foreplay never ends

in love's wonderland we share

each end a beginning

we have met before

you're the love I dreamed about

before I knew you

candlelit body

shifting tones of brown and gold

dance on naked skin

-----

never meant for me

all this love i write about

exposing heart to all

-----

never was special

or meant much to anyone

some notice my words

mystery is she

secret goddess beyond sight

hiding in my heart

burning gaze strips her

one by one her petals fall

she blossoms for him

gift to your lover

sharing your secret flower's

petals and power

bare yourself to me

leave the lonely world behind

this bed our refuge

friction causes fire

rough against tender tinder

her small torch blazes

-----

i created life

when the gods deserted me

in my own image

took equal measures

of different kinds of love

blended together

chose another's words

go and love one another

this time i mean it

sorry i bothered you

earlier conversations

made me think you cared

-----

tonight's a good night

for vodka and ginger ale

letting it all go

-----

someday i'll matter

you might come and visit me

wish i wasn't gone
